SRM ergometer hyperbolic tests (constant power)

Steptest on SRM ergomete On the left side you can see a steptest with an increase of 20 watt every third minute. The steps of increasing power are predetermined in the stress test file. The ergometer is equipped with masses to simulate the kinetic energy of the cyclist (m/2 v²). The power is absolutely independent of the chosen cadence of the rider, so that the cyclist can ride with his optimum cadence or the cadenc he prefers. All files created by ergometer tests may be stored on harddisk, so that they can be worked out in future with the normal evaluating software SRMWIN.

Ramptest predestinated for measuring maximum oxygen uptake With this test, a very quick ramp test, with 1 watt per second power increase, and a 2.5 min warming up is possible. It is possible to measure the maximum oxygen uptake with a spirometer. In this test the Ergo has no masses in order to make the power increase smoothly and also to have no kinetic energy in the system to avoid the influence on the power output of the cyclist.
The heartrate is not very important, because the increasing of power is faster than the heartrate can follow, similar to the well known Conconitest.

The rider of both these tests ´was the same.
